Authentic French Meringues from a patisserie in France.
These are pretty unhealthy, but they're very rich and delicious...So, indulge in one (or two) and don't feel too bad about it;) If you plan on eating these with savoury food, neglect the sugar - it's just too much.
Have a go at making these classic French scallop-shaped cakes. They're like a cross between a biscuit and a cake. If you can't find a madeleine mould you can try baking them in mini-muffin pans. Great for gifts, Christmas, Easter or any time that calls for a small, cute cake!
For a gourmet meal this is very easy to prepare. Leftovers reheat well the next day too! Instead of using fresh prawns like the recipe originally called (took too long the first time I did it) we now use frozen, raw, peeled and it tastes the exact same, but with 1/4 of the time! This is great over rice and served with French bread.
Prawns cooked in butter, garlic, lemon juice and parsley are even better with the help of Dijon mustard. Serve with fresh crusty bread.
This classic is a rich and creamy - but not too heavy - custard on a layer of caramelised sugar. The secret is long cooking (1 hour) at relatively low temperature and very careful caramelizing of the sugar! Make sure that the melted sugar doesn't burn.
Perfect for gluten-free treat for chocolate lovers! Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream, or simply dusted with icing sugar. I flour the pan using cocoa powder so it won't leave white marks on the cake and keeps it totally gluten free.
This is a no-fuss, easy recipe. The Hollandaise sauce is simply put together in a blender - no double boiling necessary. Serve the eggs with sauce on hot buttered English muffins or toast. Yum!
Eggs, fresh coriander and cream cheese ...with a bit of technique thrown in. Feel free to use any fresh herbs!
This a great dairy-free summer sorbet. Hope you enjoy this as much as my family does.
