Stir-fried Chinese cabbage with prawns

About this recipe: Chinese cabbage is a sweet vegetable that is used in many Chinese dishes. This dish goes well with porridge and is usually served at lunch.


  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 6 prawns, shelled
  • 1 tomato, cut into quarters
  • A few slices carrot
  • 350g Chinese Cabbage
  • 1 tbsp light soy sauce
  • 100ml water


  1. In a hot oiled wok, fry garlic under medium heat until it starts to brown.
  2. Add the prawns and stir-fry until they are pink.
  3. Add the tomato, carrot and Chinese cabbage and stir-fry until the leaves are slightly wilted and the stems are soft.
  4. Add light sauce and water and stir-fry for another 30 seconds.
