About this recipe: Oh man, it has been so hot I eat one of these a day! I suspect I will eat many more as they say it will be 40 degrees before the hot season is over! Varieties abound for this sweet treat, add in the bottom diced bread, coconut, herbal jelly, beans, corn, other syrups, whatever; but I like mine plain.

Serves: 1 

  • 2 cups shaved ice
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) 2:1 water:palm sugar simple syrup
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) Sala syrup, see photo
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) condensed milk

Prep:5min  ›  Ready in:5min 

  1. Put the simple syrup in the bottom of a bowl. (Add any other goodies you want at this point.) Pack the shaved ice on top. Drizzle with the sala syrup. Drizzle with the condensed milk.


Many mom and pop stores sell shaved ice already shaved, rush it to your freezer for your personal use.
