About this recipe: This recipe is based on the same flavors as som tam, green papaya salad. Packed with flavor, use this salad as a side dish and serve with Thai glutinous rice.

Serves: 4 

  • 3 cucumbers, seeds removed, and shredded with a knife
  • 3 tablespoons dried prawns
  • 30g long beans, sliced thin and smashed
  • 5 cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 3 tablespoons peanuts, toasted and chopped
  • For the sauce
  • 5 Thai chillies, sliced thin
  • 1 tablespoon palm sugar
  • 2 tablespoons fish sauce
  • 1-2 limes, juiced

  1. Toss the cucumber, prawns, beans and tomatoes together in a bowl.
  2. Mix the sauce ingredients together in a small bowl. Pour the sauce over the cucumber mixture. Toss and adjust the seasonings to meet your taste.
  3. Place on a plate and top with the peanuts. Serve with glutinous rice and enjoy!
