Fried Rice (Sinangag )

    Frying leftover rice with garlic makes it appetizing. This dish is usually served during breakfast.

    Serves: 4 

    • 2 eggs, beaten
    • Cooking oil
    • 2 cloves garlic, crushed fine
    • 4 cups cooked rice
    • 1 tbsp soya sauce
    • 100g diced ham

    1. Fry the beaten egg in a little oil until set. Cool and slice thin into ribbons and set aside.
    2. Fry the garlic in oil, mashing it while frying until light brown and almost crispy.
    3. Add the rice and mix thoroughly until it is well blended with the garlic. Add soya sauce and mix again. Cook 2 minutes.
    4. Add the ham and continue cooking for 5 minutes, mixing occasionally. Add the egg, mix again and cook 3 minutes. Serve hot.
