This a fun and simple dessert to make. Kids especially love it as the banana and coconut come together to create a crowd pleaser.

This is the 'secret' Greek dressing recipe from the pizzeria that I work at. The recipe makes almost a gallon but can be scaled down easily. It can be used for picnics and travels very well, since it doesn't need to be refrigerated. This is the best dressing I have ever tasted, people offer to buy it constantly, but if we sold it we wouldn't be able to make enough to use in the restaurant!

This pickled mixed vegetable is served as a side dish to rice dishes. The flavour is sweet and sour and the vegetables are cooked but still crisp to the bite. Refreshing addition to your meal.

This is a simple and easy to toss together recipe using cauliflower. Serve this dish with Indian breads such as thin rotis or naans - even a pita bread will do! Garnish with coriander if you'd like. Asofoetida can be found in some grocery stores, but will most likely be found in a specialist Indian grocery store, it is often called 'hing'.

Serves 4-6. Orange and yellow fleshed sweet potatoes are preferred. For non-vegetarians, this dish goes well with crisp roasted meats.

Tofu stretches the peanut butter in this spicy dip, reducing kilojoules and giving it a velvety consistency. Serve with crudités, as a spread or as a dressing for an Asian noodle salad.

Looking for a refreshing, sweet and spicy salsa for a warm summer evening? This is our favourite. Serve with corn chips. This is also fantastic served on grilled fish.

Their texture tells you that avocados are high in fat – but it's mostly monounsaturated fat, the type that has a positive effect on blood cholesterol levels.

Yowzers! Sweet and hot salsa with tangy mangoes and habaneros. Great with pork, chicken or fish or just with chips. You can omit the habaneros and add red bell peppers for a non-spicy version, but then again, why would you want to? Remember, ALWAYS wear gloves when working with habaneros!

This is a great quick version of an Italian traditional side dish in our family all the way from Italy. You can use fresh tomatoes and Italian basil. However, as a mother of four, I opt for the quick method as I'm sure other parents of small ones can appreciate. The kids really love this dish too. Buon Appetito!
