Chickpeas or garbanzo beans are a staple in Indian, Mediterranean and African cuisine. They are versatile, nutritious and delicious in almost any dish. We have chickpea salads, curries, soups, hummus and falafels to satisfy every palate.
This chickpea and tomato based curry with a blend of frangrant spices is warming and healthy. Serve with a dollop of natural yoghurt, a sprig of coriander and warm naan.
This tastes great spread on fresh crusty bread or in a sandwich. This chickpea spread does taste like tuna salad and makes a great vegetarian option. Experiment with different ingredients depending on your taste. I have made this vegan as well by substituting the mayonnaise for soy mayonnaise.
A thick, spicy and warming stew. Serve with bread, rice or couscous.
