This is a variation of a recipe my mother taught me after I got married and wanted to make Filipino food for my husband.

This is a very tasty and easy-to-make Filipino chicken dish made with soy sauce, garlic and vinegar. I can just as easily double or triple the chicken in this recipe to serve guests at a party. Serve over rice with just a little of the sauce (not too much).

Not your usual adobo, the coconut milk in this chicken dish makes it more flavorful.

I grew up around Philippine families, and learned how to make adobo. I've since 'Americanized' the recipe, and customized it to suit my family's tastes. It's a meltingly tender, sharp-flavored stew that can be made with pork or chicken. Best served over rice. (For a thicker sauce, be sure to blend flour with liquid before adding to sauce to prevent lumps from forming.

This recipe is from the Philippines. My stepfather is a Filipino, and I learned a few recipes from his family.

My Mom taught me how to make this traditional dish following the recipe her mother taught her. And though I've made a couple of changes, I guarantee they're Mom-approved. Serve over steamed rice."

This is considered the Philippine national dish. The combination of soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, ginger and peppercorns is delicious and actually preserves the chicken! Great for picnics. My mother taught me how to cook this, using her variation from the original recipe. A delicious, cheap and easy dish! Serve it hot with hot steamed Jasmine rice.

This gives a very well defined squid flavor. Use fresh smaller size squid.
