A long time family favourite. This recipe was handed down to me by my mother-in-law. There are several versions of chilli crab recipes in Asia. This Malaysian version is sweet and savoury and the egg adds a beautiful texture. I have this for lunch or dinner and served with steamed rice and friends have been requesting for this recipe ever since.
Pacri Nenas
This is another side dish that is usually served with specialty rice meal such as Nasi Tomato. A popular dish at weddings.
Nasi Kunyit
This glutinous yellow rice is usually served at Malay festive occasions such as weddings, Eid or ceremonies. Serve with curries, korma dish or rendang.

My friend's Nonya grandma makes this dish and it is so simple yet delicious with hot steamed rice.
Ayam Masak Lemak Cili Padi
The specialty from Negeri Sembilan is the masak lemak cili padi, which is a spicy rich yellow coconut gravy that is cooked with bird's eyes chillies. While this dish uses chicken, it can be substituted with prawns or a firm white fish.
Ayam Percik (Grilled Chicken in Coconut Sauce)
This delicious grilled chicken is a Kelantanese specialty and usually served with Nasi Kerabu. The mixture of aromatics with rich coconut milk and sour tamarind paste makes the sauce a great accompaniment to the dish so make sure you leave some for a side dish (reheat if you've dipped the chicken in it).

This rich coconut beef dish is slow-cooked till the beef is tender. It is served during special occasions with various rice dishes including nasi kunyit, nasi lemak or ketupat.

A flavorful prawn dish that combines Malay, Chinese, Indian and Western ingredients. It has to be served immediately or it loses that tasty crunchiness.
Devil Curry Chicken
This is a Eurasian dish that brings the influence from Portuguese colonisation of Malacca. As the name suggests "devil" means it's super spicy hot but there is the touch of vinegar from the Portuguese.
