This is my family recipe for the Singapore Chicken Soto Soup. The traditional way of Soto soup is normally serve with either rice cakes (lontong) or vermicelli or yellow noodles. Once serve with vermicelli or yellow noodles it is no longer a Chicken Soto Soup but we call it Mee Soto. (“mee” as in noodles- Soto Noodles)

Yes, it's my birthday! To thank all my friends & bloggers for their warmth wishes @ Facebook & to reward readers for their support to this site, I’m gonna introduce you to one of my family's favourite dish. This is also the fave food of one of the China’s Four Great Beauties, Xi Shi (西施). She is said to be “so entrancingly beautiful that fish would forget to swim & sink away from the surface when she walks by”.

People lose their appetite for a variety of reasons: stress, illness, fatigue etc. Nevertheless, we need nourishment to recover. Wherever I'm indispose or have no appetite, I'd normally prefer a soupy diet. A Consommé or rice porridge usually satisfies me best. Today, I’d like to introduce to you my home-made Oriental “remedy” that’s nutritious & at the same time, stimulating & perks up any moods. This colouful dish attracts any fussy kids too.

A very traditional paella with chorizo, chicken, peas, squid, mussels and prawns. The saffron and chorizo give this one-pan meal a gorgeous red hue. A paella pan is recommended.

This is just a simple vegetable dish I'd discovered during my last Shopping & Dining Trip in Bangkok. I was spell-bound the minute I took a bite into this dish at a Thai-Chinese Restaurant near Conrad Bangkok. They've added peppercorns, dried chilli & something I've never thought of adding in a vegetable dish - Sesame Seeds! These tiny seeds gave the beans an added crunch, making it an enjoyable treat for the family.

Very simple and easy to make for those lazy, tired-to-cook-anything days. This dish is healthy and can also be used for other dishes such as pancit canton, chopsuey, rice toppings, etc. Most of the ingredients are fridge left-overs so don't hesitate to experiment.

I was introduced to this delicious rice by my mom recently. These pumpkin rice can be found at quite a few foodcourts in S'pore selling double-boiled soups. I fell it love with it immediately & I knew I just have to make this at home too. The result: We love it!
