Pan-fried fish with taucheo (preserved soybeans)

    This is yet another fish dish! We usually cook one fish for every dinner because we love having whole fish so we come up with different ways to cook them!

    • 2 tbsp oil
    • 1 whole fish
    • 5 slices ginger
    • ½ Chili, sliced
    • 1 tomato, quartered
    • 1 tsp taucheo (preserved soybeans)
    • 1 stalk spring onion, cut
    • ½ tbsp cornflour
    • ½ cup water
    • Cilantro for garnish


    1. Oil a pan and pan-fry the fish under medium-low heat until golden brown. Remove from pan.
    2. Add the ginger, chili, tomato, taucheo and fry until fragrant.
    3. Put the fish back into the pan and add spring onion, cornflour and water. Mix well. Allow the water to boil for 2-3 minutes. Serve with cilantro as garnish.
