Breaded pork ribs in tomato sauce

    This is a delicious dish that my family loves. The tomato sauce makes the pork ribs slightly moist so that it isn't too tough and tasteless.

    • 820g pork ribs
    • 1 tbsp light soy sauce
    • 1 tbsp sesame oil
    • 1 tbsp rice wine
    • A dash of pepper
    • 1 egg white
    • ½ cup breadcrumbs
    • ¼ onion, sliced
    • 2 tbsp ketchup
    • 1 tbsp cornflour
    • 200 ml water
    • Chili for garnish
    • Cilantro for garnish


    1. First, marinate the pork ribs in light soy sauce, sesame oil, rice wine, pepper and egg white for about 30 minutes.
    2. Coat the pork ribs in breadcrumbs. Deep fry in a deep fryer until golden brown. Blot dry on kitchen towels.
    3. In a small saucepan, sauté the onions under medium heat until fragrant and slightly brown.
    4. Add the ketchup, cornflour and water and allow it to boil. Turn off heat once it boils. Add chili and cilantro to garnish.
    5. To serve, pour the tomato sauce over the pork ribs.
