Stir-fried French beans with dried shrimps

This is a common French beans stir-fry dish but I pounded the dried shrimps so that the flavor of the shrimp would be even more obvious and fragrant.

    Central Region, Singapore
    8 people made this

    • 2 tbsp oil
    • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
    • 2 tbsp dried shrimps, pounded
    • 300g French beans, sliced diagonally
    • 1 tbsp light soy sauce

    1. Heat the oil and fry the garlic under medium heat until it starts to brown.
    2. Add in the pounded dried shrimps and fry until fragrant.
    3. Add in the French beans. Fry for 1-2 minutes, then add some light soy sauce. Continue to fry until the French beans turn slightly translucent. Serve.

I tried this as well and it was simple and flavourful! But do you have any idea how to reduce the 'crunchiness' in the veg? mine was abit too hard.. i tried boiling it before cooking but it was the same.. anything to do with the veg country origin? I'm a Singaporean but currently living in UK.. Thanks in advance!  -  02 Sep 2015
