About this recipe: Assam prawns is a very delicious dish as the tamarind paste gives the prawns a sweet and sour taste. It goes well with rice.

Serves: 5 

  • 2 tbsp tamarind paste
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 14 large prawns, unshelled

  1. Mix all ingredients in a bowl well so that the prawns are evenly coated with the marinade. Refrigerate for ½ hour.
  2. In a hot oiled pan, pan-fry the prawns under medium heat until they turn completely orange. Serve.
