Kau kee cai soup

    This soup is made of kau kee cai, which are the leaves of the wolfberry plant. Wolfberries were added to give it extra sweetness.

    Serves: 5 

    • 1 handful ikan bilis
    • 1500ml water
    • 2 tbsp minced pork
    • 1 tbsp wolfberries
    • 200g kau kee cai
    • 1 egg, beaten
    • a pinch of salt

    1. Allow the water to boil in a large pot.
    2. Add in the ikan bilis, minced pork and wolfberries.
    3. Once the minced pork is cooked, add in the kau kee leaves and allow it to simmer under low heat for about 5 minutes or until leaves are wilted.
    4. Turn off heat. Add beaten egg and stir to break it up.
    5. Add a pinch of salt. Stir again and serve.
