About this recipe: Moist, simple banana cake.

Makes: 1 cake

  • 150g Butter
  • 150g White sugar
  • 150g Flour
  • 1 tspn Baking powder
  • 1 tspn Sodium bicarbonate
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup mashed ripe bananas (around 4 medium size)
  • 1 tspn vanilla essence

Prep:30min  ›  Cook:40min  ›  Ready in:1hr10min 

  1. Cream butter and sugar
  2. Slowly pour in the eggs and the vanilla and mixed it well
  3. Fold in half of flour
  4. Put in the bananas
  5. Fold in the rest of the flour
  6. Bake the mixture in a preheated oven of 160 degree Celsius for around 40 minutes

The first ever delicious cake that I baked in my life was banana cake. I made it from a recipe in "Dewan Pelajar" ( a magazine for primary school students). However, I lost that recipe and had to use a new recipe. I modify a bit the recipe. This cake is moist and soft. It isn't too light but has a nice texture and not too sweet. I had made a banana caramel sauce to go with it, but just eating it on its own is just as great. Enjoy making it! - 06 Mar 2011
