Sweet Chickpea Laddoo (Besan Laddoo)

    If you are like me and enjoy besan in sweets, then you will love Besan ladoo. What is even better is that they're very easy to make and keep well for many days. Not that they will last that long!

    Serves: 10 

    • 1 kg besan (chickpea/gram flour)
    • 700 grams powdered sugar (more/less to taste)
    • 1 tablespoon ground cardamon powder
    • 500 grams ghee

    1. Heat the ghee in a frying pan. Add the besan and roast till nutty and golden brown. You cannot miss the fragrance of roasted besan. It will perfume the entire house. Turn off the heat and let the besan cool till just warm.
    2. Add the powdered sugar and cardamom powder. Mix well. Pinch the mixture together with your fingers. It should hold the shape. If not, sprinkle some milk till the mixture is able to bind together.
    3. Form the mixture into lime-sized balls and roll between your palms till smooth and even. Serve.
