Healthy Celery Chicken In Lovely Lettuce Pouches

About this recipe: There’re many different ways to receive the health benefits of Celery. Eating Celery in its natural raw form is one way; it has a rich source of Vitamin C & a remedy to lower blood pressure & aids in the fight against cancer.

Serves: 4 

  • 1 Stalk of Celery
  • 4 Pieces lettuce leaves
  • 200g Chicken meat
  • 6 Button mushrooms
  • ½ tsp Minced garlic
  • 1 tsp Cooking oil
  • 1 tsp Oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp Chinese wine
  • ½ tsp Sesame oil
  • ¼ cup Water
  • Marinade: (1 Hour)
  • 2 tsp Oyster sauce
  • ½ tsp Soya sauce
  • ½ tsp Black sauce
  • ½ tsp Corn flour
  • ½ tsp Sesame oil
  • Pinch of Sugar & Pepper

Prep:10min  ›  Cook:10min  ›  Extra time:1hr marinating  ›  Ready in:1hr20min 

  1. Wash & dice meat. Marinade for at least an hour.
  2. Cut off both ends of celery. You may wanna remove the “veins” by using a vegetable peeler if you prefer to have a smooth texture. Rinse & cut into slices.
  3. Remove mushrooms from can & cut into slices.
  4. Heat oil in wok. Add garlic & chicken. When half-cooked, add celery, mushrooms, oyster sauce & water. Mix well & cover lid. Simmer for about 5mins.
  5. Remove lid & add wine, sesame oil & stir fry for another min. Remove & put them in separate pouches & you'll have your lovely garden vegetables.

Serving suggestion

Put these Celery & Chicken in these cute little garden lettuce pouches & your guests can have the choice of eating them with rice/porridge or simply lifting these pouches with their bare hands to eat as a vegetable wrap.
