Simple Sauteed Broccoli & Carrots

    This home-style dish is light in flavour but rich in nutrition.

    Serves: 3 

    • 500 g broccoli
    • 1 carrot
    • 1 teaspoon cornflour
    • Salt and chicken granules to taste

    1. Remove the tough part of broccoli stem, and separate the florets. Rinse and drain.
    2. Wash and peel the carrot. Diagonally cut into thin slices.
    3. Cook the broccoli in boiling water for 2 minutes (do not over cook). Use a slotted spoon to take the broccoli out and drain.
    4. In the same pot, bring the water to a boil. Add the carrot slices and cook for 1 minute and drain.
    5. In a small bowl, place the cornflour and a little bit of water, stir. Add salt and chicken granules, and mix well.
    6. Heat a wok, add the oil and heat until very hot. Add the broccoli and carrot and stir-fry for 2 minutes over high heat.
    7. Add the starch-salt mixture and stir until the mixture coats on the vegetables evenly. Transfer the vegetables to a dish and serve.
