Rosie’s Beef Fried Rice

About this recipe: This is one of my favourite recipes. A recipe that I have created without the fuss of making chilli paste instead I use chopped fresh chillies. Delicious and fast to cook beef fried rice in just less than 30 minutes! These ingredients are also easy to find in a supermarket.

Treat yourself to this delicious Asian dish.

Serves: 4

  • 4 portions of cooked rice
  • 2 medium onions, peeled and roughly chopped
  • 2 fresh red chillies, cut and roughly chopped
  • 100 g long beans, cut into thin small pieces
  • 3 cloves of garlic, peeled and roughly chopped
  • 300 g beef (beefsteaks or any beef for a few minutes of stir frying)
  • 3 tablespoons light soya sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sweet soya sauce
  • 4 tablespoons sunflower oil/cooking oil

Prep:15min  ›  Cook:15min  ›  Ready in:30min

  1. Cook 2 cups of rice in a pot or rice cooker.
  2. Heat a wok until hot. Add 4 tablespoons of sunflower oil.
  3. Add garlic and stir fry for 30 seconds. On medium heat, add onions and stir fry for another 30 seconds. Then add chillies. Stir fry all the content for another 2-3 minutes until the onions are soft. By now, you can already smell the aroma of garlic, onions and chillies.
  4. Add long beans and stir fry for another 1 minute and add 1 tablespoon of light soya sauce to moisten the beans. Cook beans for another 3 minutes until it is just soft.
  5. Add beef and stir fry for about 3 minutes. Add cooked rice and 1 tablespoon of sweet soya sauce and 2 tablespoons of light soya sauce. Taste and if you prefer slightly saltier add more of the light soya sauce. Stir gently and thoroughly mix the whole content for less than a minute.
  6. Ready. Serve while it is hot.
