Sayur Masak Kicap Berair (Vegetables in Soy Sauce)

About this recipe: A quick and easy side dish to your meal. Choose your preference for the amount of liquid to use - if you want gravy or not.

Serves: 6 

  • 1 bunch choy sum
  • 1/2 head cabbage
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 vegetable stock cube
  • 1 tablespoon mushroom sauce
  • 3 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 250ml water
  • salt and white pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoon oil for cooking

  1. Remove the hard stalks of the choy sum; separate the stalks and cut into half. Cut the cabbage into pieces. Wash and drain vegetables.
  2. Heat oil in pot and saute onions until soft. Add garlic, cabbage and choy sum and stir for a few minutes.
  3. Add mushroom sauce, soy sauce and crumbled stock cube. Stir and then pour in the water. Simmer and season with salt and pepper.
