Air Sirap Bandung (Milky Rosewater Syrup Drink)

    A very popular drink on hot days but especially during the fasting Ramadhan months.

    Serves: 2 

    • 3 tablespoon sugar
    • 5 cups water
    • 1 teaspoon rose water
    • 3 drops red food colouring
    • 2 tablespoon evaporated milk
    • ice cubes

    Prep:10min  ›  Cook:5min  ›  Ready in:15min 

    1. Boil the sugar and a 1/2 cup water together until the sugar dissolves. Stir in the food colouring and rose water.
    2. Pour the syrup into a jug, pour in the rest of water according to desired sweetness. Add the milk and ice cubes and stir.

    Depending on availability, store-bought rose syrup is a good shortcut. We get ours at a Middle Eastern market and just mix it with fresh milk.  -  25 Jun 2012
