    About this recipe: A delicious, filling vegetarian spaghetti dinner that quick and easy. Onions that's cooked down make the bulk of the sauce.

    Serves: 4 

    • 500g spaghetti
    • 4 large brown onions, sliced
    • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
    • 2 tablespoons olive oil
    • 1 can (400g) whole peeled tomatoes
    • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • fresh black pepper
    • 10 leaves of chopped fresh basil
    • ¼ cup water

    1. Heat oil in frypan and brown onions and garlic until soft. Add tomato paste and peeled tomatoes and stir till mixed. Add salt, pepper and basil then add water, cover and let simmer for 20 minutes, until sauce thickens.
    2. While the sauce is simmering, cook spaghetti in salted boiling water as directed on the box; drain and mix with sauce in a large serving dish.
