    About this recipe: Red apples are decorated to look like lady bugs. This is a quick and fun snack that kids will enjoy making and eating. For once, kids can play with their food.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 4 

    • 2 red apples
    • 1/4 cup sultanas
    • 1 tablespoon peanut butter
    • 8 thin pretzel sticks

    1. Slice apples in half from top to bottom and scoop out the cores using a knife or melon baller. If you have an apple corer, core them first, then halve. Place each apple half on a small plate, flat side down.
    2. Dab peanut butter on to the back of the 'lady bug', then stick raisins on the peanut butter for spots. Use this method to make eyes too. Stick one end of each pretzel stick into a raisin, then press the other end into the apples to make antennae.

    Too Cute! I'm an admitted peanut butter addict and peanut butter and apples to me go together well....like peanut butter and jelly! My niece went crazy for this! It's an easy, quick, inexpensive, healthy and delicious snack that I felt good about giving her. Plus it was really fun to make!     I spread cut side of apple with peanut butter(to prevent browning) and serve on a lettuce leaf which keeps PB off fingers. This would be a great after-school treat or a cute side "salad" for a meal.
