    Serves: 12 

    • 250g cream cheese, softened
    • 60g butter, softened
    • 1 egg, room temperature
    • 120ml cream
    • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence
    • 250g plain flour
    • 100g white sugar
    • 3 teaspoons baking powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 55g semi-sweet chocolate chips

    1. Preheat oven to 200 degrees C. Lightly grease 12 muffin cups or use patty cups.
    2. Beat cream cheese and butter together until fluffy. Beat in egg, cream and vanilla. Sift together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt, then stir flour mixture into cream cheese mixture until flour is just moistened. Fold in chocolate chips.
    3. Spoon batter into prepared muffin cups, filling them 3/4 full. Bake until tops are golden, about 20 minutes.
