About this recipe: Asparagus remains crisp when you stir-fry it. It's delicious with a drizzling of Japanese teriyaki sauce. For lunch or dinner, simply increase the ingredients to suit the numbers allowing 5 asparagus spears per person.


Serves: 4 

  • knob butter
  • 1/4 onion, peeled and chopped
  • 12 stalks asparagus, woody ends removed
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons teriyaki sauce or to taste

  1. Melt butter in a large frying pan over medium heat. Cook onion until tender.
  2. Add asparagus and garlic; stir-fry for 3 to 5 minutes, or until slightly cooked and heated through.
  3. Drizzle with teriyaki sauce and serve immediately.
