Minty Lemon Drink

    1 hour 15 mins

I had this drink when I was travelling in the Middle East and I wanted to try and imitate it. It cools you down on a hot day! You can adjust the amount of mint to taste.

    3 people made this

    Serves: 2

    • 40g fresh mint leaves
    • 250ml cold water
    • 50ml hot water
    • 6 lemons, juiced
    • 120g sugar
    • 4 mint leaves, for garnish

    1. Stir the sugar into the hot water. Place mint leaves, water, lemons and hot water/sugar in a blender. Blend until mint leaves are evenly chopped.
    2. Cool the mixture in the refrigerator for an hour.
    3. Serve in cold glasses (refrigerate them for 15 mins) with mint.

Loverly refresing drink for the summer. Smells and taste delicious.  -  16 Sep 2010  (Review from Allrecipes UK | Ireland)

I also tried this in the middle east and loved it. The mint didn't blend very well for me but that was probably the fault of my blender. I strained the end mixture after blending it to get the mint leaves out. This still left a lovely minty taste without big clumps of mint.  -  08 Aug 2012  (Review from Allrecipes UK | Ireland)
