    Ingredients
    Serves: 10 

    • 140g dark chocolate
    • 140g milk chocolate
    • 115g butter
    • 100g brown sugar
    • 50g white sugar
    • 2 medium eggs
    • 2 teaspoons vanilla essence
    • 70g plain flour
    • 115g walnuts
    • 100g white or milk chocolate, in chunks
    • For the fudge icing
    • 170g dark chocolate
    • 55g butter
    • 30ml golden syrup
    • 2 teaspoons vanilla essence
    • 1 teaspoon coffee essence

    Directions
    Prep:10min  ›  Cook:20min  ›  Ready in:30min 

    1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C. Grease a 20cm square cake tin.
    2. In a saucepan on a low heat, melt the milk and dark chocolate with the butter till smooth. Remove from heat, stir in the sugars until dissolved. Beat in eggs and vanilla, then add the flour, walnuts and the rest of the chocolate. Mix well.
    3. Put the mixture into the cake tin and cook for 20-25 min. Remove to cool for 30mins - if adding the fudge icing. If not the brownies are great warm!
    4. To make the fudge icing; melt the chocolate, butter, golden syrup, vanilla and coffee essence in a pot. Once melted put in fridge to cool, until it's thick and can be spread over the brownies, and voila!

    Our family favorite! This cake is so delicious, everyone I serve it to asks for the recipe! Tip: Slice fairly thin slices since this cake is very rich. Keep in fridge then before serving, put slices in microwave for just 10-20 seconds (until the icing starts to slightly melt but cake is still chunky and just getting gooey in places where it has started melting) and serve with plenty of vanilla icecream.     this was the most easy recipe for a totally delicious chocolate overload....I used the supermarket basic choc range as did not want to waste money if not turn out well but wow worked fine.
