This is a great appetizer! Serve with water crackers.

    3 people made this

    Ingredients
    Serves: 12

    • 3/4 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley
    • 1 clove garlic, minced
    • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
    • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
    • 1 teaspoon dried marjoram
    • 55 g thinly sliced salami, chopped
    • 1 (2.2 pound) wheel Brie cheese
    • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
    • 1 teaspoon water
    • 1 egg, beaten

    Directions
    Prep:15min  ›  Cook:30min  ›  Extra time:15min cooling  ›  Ready in:1hr

    1. Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
    2. Mix together parsley, garlic, rosemary, thyme, marjoram, and salami. Slice the Brie in half crosswise, so you have two wheels. Spread the salami and herb mixture on one of the cut sides and top with the other half of the Brie wheel. Place the Brie in the center of the sheet of puff pastry. Fold the puff pastry up and over the Brie, pressing to secure the pastry together using a little bit of water if necessary. Brush the pastry with beaten egg.
    3. Bake the pastry in the preheated oven until golden brown, about 30 minutes. Remove from the oven and let stand for 15 minutes before serving.

If you want to get fancy you can use a cookie cutter and cut out a shape to put on top if you have extra pastry. I usually do a heart for Valentine's Day!

Delicious ! Very rich though. We used 'herbs de provence' blend instead of what was mentioned in the recipe. Would definitely make again.  -  24 May 2010  (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)

This was devoured at our house not even a crumb left, everyone loved it! Recipe does not specify what type of pan to use so I used a pizza stone and it worked perfectly. I used spices in quantities listed butiIf you do not like spices listed I think you could substitute just about anything into this recipe and it would still be delicious. I will absolutely make this again.  -  02 Jan 2016  (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)
