Heavenly Shortbread

    Makes: 36 

    • 455 g butter, softened
    • 200 g white sugar
    • 500 g all-purpose flour
    • 2 teaspoons cornstarch

    Prep:15min  ›  Cook:30min  ›  Ready in:45min 

    1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (170 degrees C).
    2. Cream softened butter thoroughly. ( If using margarine, add four drops of butter flavoring.) Slowly add sugar.
    3. Sift flour and corn starch before adding. Mix well. Press into an ungreased jelly roll pan 11 x 15 x 1 1/2 inches.
    4. Bake 30 minutes or until very light brown. Score and cut while warm.

    If this doesn't taste like your grandma's, then your grandma must've been a lousy cook. This is amazingly buttery shortbread, and was easy to make. My only change would be to cook it a little longer (maybe 5-7 minutes), and cut it into bars with a pizza wheel before it sets.
