About this recipe: This is my grandfather's recipe, it's a basic recipe for Italian cheesecake.


Serves: 16 

  • 9 eggs
  • 1350g ricotta cheese
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup (225g) caster sugar
  • 1 teaspoon grated orange zest
  • 1 (38ml) jigger whiskey, optional

  1. Preheat oven to 175 degrees C (350 degrees F). Coat two 24cm (9-inch) pie tins with vegetable oil cooking spray.
  2. Beat eggs in a large bowl. Mix in the ricotta cheese, vanilla, cinnamon, sugar, zest, and whiskey. Pour into prepared tins.
  3. Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes, until firm. Let cool, then refrigerate until cold.
