About this recipe: Saewoo Jun is a great appetizer for parties or for just the family. This recipe also has the dipping sauce included.

  • 240g (1/2 LB) frozen baby cooked prawns
  • 240g (1/2 LB) imitation crab meats, shredded
  • half medium yellow onion, chopped
  • 16 each green onions, chopped
  • ½ cup plain flour
  • 5 each eggs
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • Dipping Sauce
  • 2 each green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon soya sauce
  • ¼ teaspoon Korean red pepper powder
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon sesame oil
  • ¼ teaspoon sesame seeds

  1. Thaw the frozen baby cooked prawns. Put the prawns in a mixing bowl with the shredded imitation crab meat. Add the remaining ingredients into the bowl and mix well.
  2. Heat a frying pan with a few drops of oil on medium heat. Place a tablespoon of mixture on the frying pan to make a small patty. You can pan fry about 5-6 pieces at once, cook for 2 minutes and flip over cook another 2 minutes.
  3. Mix the dipping sauce ingredients together. Serve with the prawn cakes.
