About this recipe: An easy recipe that uses spareribs instead of pork butt.

Serves: 6 

  • 2 kg pork spareribs cut into serving pieces
  • 125ml soya sauce
  • 60ml honey
  • Shaoxing rice wine
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped

Prep:5min  ›  Cook:1hr55min  ›  Extra time:2hr marinating  ›  Ready in:4hr 

  1. Place the ribs in a shallow baking tray, meaty side down. Combine remaining ingredients and brush the sauce over the ribs. Reserve the leftover sauce. Cover and marinate for 2 hours.
  2. Preheat your oven to 180 degrees C.
  3. Bake the ribs, covered, for 45 minutes. Turn them over and brush with more sauce. Uncover and bake for another 30 minutes, basting occasionally with sauce in the tray, until the ribs are deep red and glossy.


If you are in a hurry, skip the marinating and roast the ribs immediately.
