Mango Lassi with Mint

    A traditional Punjabi beverage made with yoghurt. This one is sweet and calls for mango. Serve with fresh mint, if you like. It's smooth, creamy and absolutely heavenly!

    Ingredients
    Serves: 4 

    • 4 large ripe mangoes, peeled, seeded and chopped
    • 3 cups natural low fat yogurt
    • 125g (1/2 cup) caster sugar
    • 8 mint leaves
    • 1 teaspoon cloves, crushed
    • 4 tablespoons honey
    • 1 1/2 cups chilled water
    • Crushed ice to serve

    Directions
    Prep:5min  ›  Ready in:5min 

    1. Place chopped mangoes, yogurt, sugar, mint, cloves and honey into a food processor. Process until smooth.
    2. Add chilled water until desired texture is achieved.
    3. Pour into glasses filled with crushed ice. Serve.

    I don't like adding that much sugar, usually substitute part of the sugar for honey. I also like adding a little lime juice to the mixture.  -  29 Jan 2003  (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)

    WOW! I don't give anything 5 stars unless it truly is fabulous. I love Lassi (particularly mango or strawberry). I used strawberries instead of mangoes and it was absolutely DELICIOUS!
