Clean the green onions, cut in half and shred thinly. Wash the onions in cold water 2-3 times and put them in a colander to drain for 20 minutes.
The green onions will be curly. Put in a bowl and add the soya sauce, vinegar, red pepper powder and sesame seeds. Mix very gently. Add the 2-3 drops sesame oil in and mix again just before serving (to avoid saggy green onions).
I love having this side dish when I eat kalbi. This is the exact recipe that my mom uses and it's the best! One thing I will mention is to make sure the green onions are completely dry before you start adding anything to it. Otherwise the dish will get super soggy. - 26 Feb 2010
