About this recipe: This siopao filling can be made in advance to shorten the preparation of the siopao.

Serves: 6 

  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1kg pork, diced
  • 1kg chicken thighs, deboned and diced
  • 60ml soya sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

  1. In a wok or frying pan, saute the onion and garlic in olive oil until onion is translucent.
  2. Add the pork and chicken and stir and cook for 5 minutes.
  3. Add the soya sauce and sugar. Mix well and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Simmer for 10 minutes or until the mixture is almost dry. Cool before filling the siopao dough.
