About this recipe: The coconut milk in this dish gives the catfish a very savory taste.

Serves: 3 

  • 2 medium sized catfish
  • 1 medium sized onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 400 ml (1 1/2 cups) coconut milk

  1. Clean the catfish by removing the guts and gills. It is OK to remove skin if desired. Divide each fish into three pieces.
  2. Saute the garlic and onion in cooking oil until garlic is light brown and onion is glossy. Add the catfish and salt and pepper, mix and cover. Cook 2 minutes.
  3. Add the coconut milk and mix. Cover and cook another 10 minutes or until the coconut turns oily.
