Tomato and Bacon Pasta

About this recipe: Another haphazard attempt that worked out really well!! Again, I prefer to use a large, deep-sided frypan on the stove, but do try an electric frypan if you like, and let me know if it works!!


Serves: 4 

  • Pasta to serve 4 people
  • 2 tsp (10ml) olive oil
  • 1 tsp minced garlic (or 1 clove fresh garlic, crushed)
  • Half a small onion
  • 200g diced smoked bacon
  • 415g can crushed tomatoes with juice
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Italian Basil
  • salt and pepper to taste

Prep:5min  ›  Cook:10min  ›  Ready in:15min 

  1. Prepare pasta according to instructions on back of packet
  2. While pasta is cooking, heat olive oil in frypan. Add the garlic and (optional) onion, fry until clear. Add the bacon and fry until bacon is nicely browned, then add a can of crushed tomatoes and heat until simmering.
  3. Add a small splash of Worcestershire sauce, to taste and add basil, salt and pepper to taste
  4. Serve poured over pasta.
