Chicken Drumsticks - Indonesian Style

About this recipe: Quick, simple, foolproof, pour over sauce, pop in oven and you have a tasty 'finger food' to greet your guests or you can add mashed potatoes, peas, corn or vegetable of choice to make a very tasty meal.


Serves: 4 

  • 1kg chicken drumsticks
  • 3/4 cup honey
  • 45g butter
  • 1 tbs curry powder
  • 2 tbs dry mustard powder
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • salt/pepper to taste

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C.
  2. Place all ingredients except chicken in a microwave jug. Microwave 1 min until honey and butter melt (time taken will depend on microwave), stir to combine.
  3. Place chicken pieces in a roast tin (I line the tray with foil, saves cleaning later) and pour over marinade. Turn chicken pieces to coat with sauce.
  4. Cover container and bake for 30 minutes, uncover and bake for a further 30 minutes.
