About this recipe:This traditional style Swedish apple cake has a lovely rich texture and tastes divine, and is very simple to make. Served warm, with a good quality thick cream or vanilla ice cream, this dessert is guaranteed to please.
2 large green apples
1 & 1/3 cups plain flour
3/4 cup sugar
1 & 1/2 teaspoons buttermilk
Directions Prep:15min › Cook:45min › Ready in:1hr
Preheat oven to 200 degrees C or 180 degrees C fan forced.
Mix flour, sugar, baking powder and buttermilk with melted butter. Pour mixture into a broad pie dish and bake for 8 minutes.
Peel and slice apples.
Remove dish from oven and slot apple slices into mixture.
Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon and bake for a further 35 minutes.
