About this recipe:
I found this to be a great, easy dish when I was nursing my children. I could make it while they napped, and still dish up a nutritious dinner.
500g chuck steak or other casserole meat, diced
5 teaspoons Gravox or any gravy powder
1 large potato, sliced
2 medium carrots, sliced
1 large onion, sliced
1 stick celery, sliced
1 cup water
- Preheat oven to 180 degrees C. Grease a medium sized casserole dish. Coat meat in gravy powder by shaking the meat and the powder together in a plastic bag.
- Place meat in layers in the casserole dish, alternating with the other ingredients, but finishing with the layer of potato. Pour the water over the top and shake in any left over powder from the bag.
- Cover dish and cook in a moderate oven for 90 minutes.
