About this recipe: These delicious fruits provide plenty of vitamin C. Orange-fleshed melons supply beta-carotene; watermelon has lycopene, another carotenoid.

Serves: 8 

  • 1/4 small watermelon (1.5kg), cut into cubes
  • 1/2 rockmelon, cut into cubes (2 cups)
  • 1/4 honeydew melon, cut into cubes (1½cups)
  • 1 cup seedless red or green grapes
  • 1 cup fresh or canned pineapple cubes
  • 1 cup plain low-fat yoghurt
  • 2 tablespoons reduced-fat sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • Ground ginger

  1. Combine the watermelon, rockmelon, honeydew melon, grapes and pineapple in a large bowl. Chill the fruit until serving time.
  2. Combine the yoghurt, sour cream, honey, lime juice and a pinch of ginger in a small bowl. Chill until serving time.
  3. Serve the fruit in individual bowls, with the yoghurt sauce on the side.
