About this recipe: Following its debut as the darling of upscale chefs, the kiwifruit – a great source of vitamin C, fibre and potassium – has become a popular snack fruit.

Serves: 4 

  • 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 8 kiwifruit, peeled and cut into 1cm wedges
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated lime zest
  • 1/2 cup low-fat ricotta cheese
  • 2 tablespoons reduced-fat sour cream
  • 2 teaspoons julienned lime zest

  1. Combine the 1/4 cup of sugar and the lime juice in a medium bowl. Add the kiwifruit, tossing to combine. Cover and refrigerate until serving time.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the grated lime zest, ricotta, sour cream and the remaining sugar. Serve the kiwifruit with its syrup in dessert bowls, topped with the ricotta cream and the julienned lime zest.
