Baked Hotate Mentaiyaki


    Mentaiko or ‘spicy cod roe’, is marinated roe of Pollock & it’s a common ingredient in Japanese cuisine. The cod roe works wonders to sharpen every distinguished flavour in an appetizer.

    • 5 large Scallops with Shells
    • 2 Mentaiko sacs
    • 2 tbsp Mayonnaise
    • 1 tbsp Lemon juice
    • Mozzarella Cheese for topping


    1. Clean scallops & shells thoroughly to remove dirt & dry well.
    2. Preheat oven at 220°C.
    3. Remove mentaiko from its sac by using a spoon to scrap it out.
    4. Mix mentaiko with mayo, lemon juice.
    5. Spread them on scallops & top with cheese.
    6. Bake for about 10 mins or till golden brown. Serve hot!
