Wanton bee hoon

    This is a simple noodle soup dish that we normally cook for lunch. You can use ready-made wantons, or make some ourselves. This time, I had some leftover wantons from the day before so I used them here.

    • 2.5 bowls water
    • 1 handful ikan bilis
    • 2 dried scallops
    • 100g beehoon, soaked until soft
    • 6 ready-made wantons, defrosted
    • 3 stalks caixin
    • Fried shallots as garnish


    1. Boil together the water, ikan bilis and scallops for about 30 minutes.
    2. Add in the wantons and caixin and cook under medium heat for about 2-3 minutes.
    3. Add in the beehoon and cook for another 1 minute. Serve with fried shallots as garnish.
