Char siew fried rice

    Our fried rice is made even tastier with the addition of char siew. You can make char siew at home, or just buy it at the hawker center.

    • 3 shallots, chopped
    • 1 piece fishcake, chopped
    • 10 prawns, shelled, chopped
    • 300g char siew, chopped
    • 2 cups rice, cooked
    • 6 eggs


    1. In a large wok, fry the shallots under medium-high heat until fragrant.
    2. Add in the prawns, fishcake and char siew and fry until slightly browned.
    3. Add in the rice followed by light soy sauce, pepper and salt. Mix well.
    4. Crack 2 eggs into the rice and mix well. Stir quickly to break the egg up to coat the rice. Stir-fry until the rice grains are separated from one another.
    5. In another pan, make an omelette with the remaining eggs. Fry until golden on both sides. Remove and cut into strips. Serve with the fried rice.
