Mee Chian Kueh (Peanut pancake)

    We enjoy mee chian kueh a lot. We usually buy it from the wet market downstairs but then decided to try it once for ourselves. Not too bad!

    • 300g flour
    • 1 egg
    • 60g sugar
    • 1 tsp yeast
    • 1 tsp baking soda
    • 375ml water
    • Oil/butter
    • 30g crushed roasted peanut
    • 15g sugar


    1. Mix together all the ingredients until well-combined. Allow it to sit for 30 minutes.
    2. Heat a pan under low heat and coat it with a thin layer of oil or butter. Pour about ½ the batter into the pan and cover the pan with a lid.
    3. Allow it to cook for about 3-4 minutes. Use a spatula to carefully remove it from the pan.
    4. Mix the roasted peanuts and sugar together. Pour the peanut mixture over the pancake and fold into half. Serve.
