About this recipe: We love to have spicy food! Sambal goes well with anything. This time, we tried pairing sambal paste with sotong and it tastes great.


  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2 chili
  • 2 shallots
  • 3 sotong, cut into pieces
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 tomato, quartered
  • 1 tbsp Assam water


  1. Pound the garlic, chili and shallots together into a paste.
  2. Stir-fry the paste in a pan until fragrant under medium heat. Add sotong, onion, tomato and assam water. Cover until sotong is firm. Serve.
