Fishball yee mee soup

    This is like the usual soupy fishball noodles soup you get outside but I used yee mee instead which is slightly spring-ier.

    • 4 bowls water
    • 1 rack chicken bones
    • 1 handful ikan bilis
    • Salt to taste
    • 4 balls yee mee
    • 3 eggs
    • 6 sticks crabmeat
    • 1 fishcake, sliced
    • 12 fishballs
    • 150g chye sim, cut
    • Spring onions as garnish
    • Fried shallots as garnish


    1. Boil the water, chicken bones and ikan bilis for 30 minutes under medium heat. Add salt to taste.
    2. Add in the noodles and cook for about 4-5 minutes under medium heat. Add in crabmeat, fishcake, fishballs and chye sim and cook for about 2 minutes.
    3. Crack the eggs into the pot and allow it to cook until it is set. Stir to prevent it from sticking to the bottom. Serve with spring onions and shallots as garnish.
