Char mee (Fried noodles)

    This is a yummy dish that has lots of ingredients! Leave out the sambal chili if you don't take spicy foods.

    • Sambal chili to taste (about 2-4 tbsp)
    • 2 onions, sliced
    • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
    • 1 fish cake, sliced
    • 6 prawns, shelled
    • 600g yellow mee
    • Salt or soy sauce to taste
    • Water
    • 1 egg
    • 200g beansprouts


    1. In a pan, fry the sambal chili, onion and garlic until fragrant.
    2. Add in the fishcake and prawn and mix well.
    3. Add in the noodles and stir to mix well. Add salt or soy sauce to taste. Add some water or the noodles will be too dry. Stir-fry until the noodles are cooked.
    4. Crack an egg into the noodles and stir to break it up into small pieces.
    5. Lastly, add in the beansprouts and stir-fry again for about 1-2 minutes. Serve.
